UFC Fights This Weekend. WHAT TO WATCH?

What Are The UFC Fight Nights Ahead

UFC like myself to a small hiatus but now there back and to the delight of my fan (yep there`s one) were both backs, and hopefully with a bang. UFC Maine was okay, nothing too special aside from a devilishly handsome male model, so handsome he even rivaled the great Derek Zoolander, another man who is ridiculously good-looking, Alan Jouban.

The Blackhouse fighter looked awesome in his KO win over Seth Baczynski. Aside from that, I found very little on the Maine card to get the juices flowing so to speak. But I expect all that to change this coming weekend’s fights, with two UFC events and although neither card is stacked, picking select fights from both cards gives you a pretty awesome amount of intriguing match-ups.

Listen guys I know it can be tough to sort out which to watch and who to look out for so this is where I come in, like to cool guy I am I’ll pick the fights you need to see!

UFC Fight Night Macau – Bisping vs Le

Alberto Mina vs Shinsho Anzai, if you, like me, like watching out for prospects then this fight is for ye, undefeated Mina against a fighter in Anzai who has only one loss. Sure Anzai might have a few wins against guys losing records but Mina is the one to watch in this fight, he has only fought 5 times since 2008 but he has traveled the World fighting and it will be interesting to see how he takes to the UFC stage and fighting three times a year.

Tyron Woodley vs Dong Hyun Kim

This fight is awesome on a ridiculous amount of levels, Tyron Woodley, an explosive beast of a fighter that no-showed against Rory MacDonald and “Stun Gun” has adopted possibly the most aggressive style in the UFC of late, charging down his opponents until they break.

A win for either fighter puts them higher in the line for the belt but not necessarily a title shot, the fan in me screams for a “Stun Gun” vs Matt Brown fight which would all kinds of awesomeness but that can only come about with a Kim loss which could be the case when you take into account Woodley`s skills, his wrestling should give him safe from being taken down and his hands could do the rest. WATCH THIS FIGHT!

Michael Bisping vs Cung Le

The main event was always going to be on here, an intriguing fight that will be a stand-up chess match, Bisping has his footwork and quick hands and Le has his devastating kicks and explosive power. Whether this fight becomes an awesome war depends on Cung Le, in his last fight he knocked out Rich Franklin with a devastating hook.

But until then he was being shown up, he looked slow and ponderous whereas Franklin was landing and moving until that fatal one-punch ended everything. Bisping will have seen this and with his superior movement will look to exploit it, but again it comes down to Cung, will he be able to pull off another devastating KO?

Off to Tulsa, Oklahoma where we see UFC Henderson vs Dos Anjos.

Max Holloway vs Mirsad Bektic

Holloway takes on the undefeated Bektic in this bout and it looks like it`s gonna be a good one. Holloway seems to never be in a boring fight and at 22 is considered a veteran. Bektic has a somewhat questionable record going along with the trend of being “undefeated” but many of his wins were against a fighter with very poor losing records.

That being said he did perform well in RFA and won his UFC debut. Holloway is going for three in a row and is coming off a huge win over highly touted Andre Fili. A win for Bektic would be huge and if Holloway gets the W expect a big fight next for the Hawaiian.

James Vick vs Valmir Lazaro

This fight could be a contender for fight of the night; Vick looked impressive on the Ultimate fighter but really shined in his first submission of Ramsey Nijem. He is huge for a lightweight which gives his excellent Jiu-Jitsu game an extra boost. Lazaro is a bit of an unknown but his record speaks for itself, he has won 11 fights in a row after going 1-2 in his early career, 8 of these 11 have been KO`s or TKO`s. Throw in his camp is Nova Uniao and he is an intriguing fighter to watch.

Mike Pyle vs Jordan Mein

If Vick vs Lazaro is a contender for fight of the night well this is a contender for fight of the year. Pyle and Mein is an excellent match-up with the 38 year old Pyle facing the 24 year old Mein. Both fighters are coming off a win and both have suffered recent losses to Matt Brown.

Mein being 24 has to time recover and make a run but Pyle at 38 is running out of time and needs to make something happen quickly. Both fighters like the standing game and both excel in the sprawl. I`m playing it safe by saying this fight will be all kinds of awesome.

Ben Henderson vs Rafael Dos Anjos

Benson looked awesome facing Rustam Khabilov in his last bout showing a much more aggressive style, pushing the pace and finishing Khabilov in the later rounds, Dos Anjos looked awesome against Jason High finishing him in two rounds.

This fight is as intriguing as they come, Dos Anjos has been improving his stand-up as has Henderson, Dos Anjos is a wizard on the ground so is Henderson, this fight is as delicately poised as they come. The Key to a Benson victory is his physicality; Benson is a beast for lightweight and even though Dos Anjos might be more technical Benson could be able to dominate in the later rounds.

Dos Anjos is always improving and a win here for him could be the springboard to a title shot. Both guys NEED this fight and expect them to give everything they have to get the W.

There it is folks my “expert” guide to what fights to watch next weekend. Check them out if ye can it should be an awesome weekend.
