At UFC 285, Jalin Turner will be facing an opponent with a higher ranking than was originally anticipated.
In light of the fact that Turner’s first scheduled opponent, Dan Hooker, had to pull out of the fight due to injury, the lightweight star will now compete against Mateusz Gamrot on March 4.
Turner, a young contender who is only 27 years old, has won five consecutive fights in the UFC, all of which were finished in the first or second round. In his most recent fight, which took place in July, he submitted Brad Riddell with a guillotine choke after only forty-five seconds of competition. Since then, a tear in Turner’s tricep has forced him to sit out.
Gamrot, who is 32 years old, was close to winning the title before Beneil Dariush beat him by decision at UFC 280.
Before then, Gamrot had won four bouts in a row in the UFC, including victories over Arman Tsarukyan, Diego Ferreira, Jeremy Stephens, and Scott Holtzman.
UFC 285 takes place in Las Vegas at the T-Mobile Arena. The main events of the card are two title bouts: Jon Jones vs. Ciryl Gane for the heavyweight championship, and Valentina Shevchenko vs. Alexa Grasso for Shevchenko’s flyweight belt, which she has held for a considerable amount of time.
