UFC 207 Countdown takes you inside the lives and training camps of four bantamweights preparing for their December title fights. Former champion Ronda Rousey returns to the Octagon fiercely motivated to recapture the belt she pioneered. But current women’s bantamweight champion Amanda Nunes has no intention of letting go of her hard-earned title.

In a sport dominated by male fighters, former Olympian Rousey made her MMA debut in 2011. With the UFC president saying women would “never” fight in the Ultimate Fighting Championships. Just two short years later, she would be defending her bantamweight title inside the UFC octagon. Undefeated in her mixed martial arts career, Rousey continued to shine alight on the sport. But especially for female athletes who had always been in the shadow of their male counterparts.

Now fast forward two more years to UFC 193 as Rousey faced challenger Holly Holm. A fight she would go on to lose by spectacular head kick knockout. Signalling an end to her career as a mixed martial artist and the beginning of a new chapter in professional wrestling.

Now a new phenom in women’s MMA has risen to the top in the form of Brazilian fighter Amanda Nunes. Who had dethroned the champion at the time, Miesha Tate, with relative ease at UFC 200. Now with a new Lioness dominating at the top of the division. Ronda Rousey once again makes her way back to active competition to challenge again for the title she once held.

But standing her way is a determined Nunes who says she has been training her whole lift to face the former champion. And in no rush to give up the title she just won, it sure to be a historic night of action in the UFC women’s bantamweight division.

Cruz vs Garbrandt

And in the UFC men’s bantamweight division, long-reigning champion Dominick Cruz. Will face unbeaten challenger Cody Garbrandt for the title. In a fight between the two very best 135 lb fighters on the planet. Cruz is viewed by many including himself as perhaps the greatest bantamweight fighter of all time. But in Garbrandt he faces one of his toughest tests to date against a hard-hitting dangerous and hungry challenger.
