Stipe Miocic vs Alistair Overeem Full Fight
In his first defence of the UFC heavyweight belt at UFC 203, pugilist specialist UFC heavyweight Stipe Miocic swopped broadsides. With one of the few men on the planet with similarly destructive firepower: Strikeforce champion and kickboxing icon Alistair Overeem. In a great back and forth war that saw flashes from both men.
The fight took place on home soil for the champion who was looking to put on a show for his fans. Overeem started the fight quickly, avoiding any of Stipe’s big shots. In round one, the Dutchman managed to land a stiff left on Miocic. Stunning the Cleveland native and sending him to the canvas, where Overeem managed to sink in a guillotine choke. But he lost his vice-like grip and the champion sprang free and quickly back to his feet.

But it was not long before the tables began to turn and Overeem was on his bicycle. At some point, The Reem was actually running around the octagon. To avoid the big power punches while trying to land some of his own. Pretty soon Miocic had the challenger stunned, which he followed up on with a trip, sending Overeem to the canvas.
Stipe mounted his opponent who fought valiantly and tried to avoid the punches from above. But it wouldn’t be long before Miocic was able to gain the upper hand. Breaking out of his guard into top position, the champion began to rain down shots which eventually got through, knocking Overeem out cold. Their title fight was everything fans expected it to be and more.
With the champion being stunned early with a punch that silenced the home crowd. But he would soon bounce back to fulfil his promise, keeping the UFC title in his hometown. A great heavyweight contest and one for the history books of great championship fights.
