Stipe Miocic Says he Overeem May be Hungry, But he is a Starving Wolf UFC 203
UFC heavyweight champion Stipe Miocic spoke with his state capitals website Cleveland.com. About his upcoming title defence against former K1, Dream and Strikeforce heavyweight champion Alistair Overeem. Who he faces this coming weekend at UFC 203 in his hometown of Cleveland Ohio. The fighter, come, full-time firefighter, says;
“I’ve worked too hard to get here”.. “I’m going to beat the crap out of him”.
As he goes through his final few days of training camp and prepares to defend his title for the very first time. And following on from Overeem’s accusations that he was “living it up” after he won the title. Miocic said that “he may be hungry (Overeem), but I’m starving.. he’s a hungry wolf, I’m a starving wolf.”
And Stipe is very confident as he goes into this first title defence. Feeling ultra-confident that no one will be taking his championship title away, not even a seasoned veteran like Overeem. And especially not in his own backyard, in front of his friends and family.
Miocic is determined that the same fate will not befall him like so many other UFC heavyweights. Who has won the title, then lost it in their very first defence? So according to his coaches, he is super focused and ready to the task ahead. To defeat Overeem and bring the belt back home to Cleveland where it will stay for many years to come.
These two heavyweights clash this weekend on September 10th at the Quicken Loans Arena in Cleveland Ohio at UFC 203. Will Miocic be one of the few UFC champions who in recent times have managed to hold on to their title? No doubt in front of a full house of his hometown fans? It’s almost time to find out.
