PAUL DALEY – HAVE FAITH – PART 1/2 | London Real

Paul Daley London Real Interview – HAVE FAITH – PART 1/2

Paul Daley has been around the fight game for a long long time. Having fought for multiple promotions across a variety of combat sports. There’s no doubting his vintage as one of the UK most experienced fighters. He sat down with Brian Rose at London Real to discuss his 15 years as a pro. How he first became a fighter, including an intriguing story of him and one UFC welterweight Dan Hardy raising money and heading off to American Top Team in the US.

Daley talks about his love for fighting and why he was drawn to the sport. Not always about the highs, he goes into detail about how tough it was for UK based athletes to make their mark. With few gyms and even fewer events, it’s been an uphill battle since day one of his journey.

He faces one of his toughest tests to date when he squares up against fellow ex-UFC fighter Rory Macdonald at Bellator 179 on May 19th in London England. Macdonald is a fighter he has admired for some time and the feeling is mutual. With both Paul and Rory having mentioned that they watched each other’s fights. With both men having an admiration for one another. That, however, will not have much of a bearing on the fight itself. As Semtex reckons he has what it takes and believes that MacDonald is a quitter saying;

“Rory quitting because of a broken nose to me tells me… No matter how deep down he believes he’s a fighter, he’s not real a fighter. I would never quit to a broken nose.. never.”

It’s going to be one of the biggest fights Bellator MMA have promoted to date. With a huge name like MacDonald and a UK fan favourite in Paul Daley. Expect fireworks when these two finally face off this coming weekend at Wembley Arena.
