Boxing great Muhammad Ali takes on his old foe Smokin Joe Frazier, this Day the January 28th of 1974. Frazier beat Ali when they first met back in 1971. In a fight which left a bad taste in Ali’s mouth. So when they met again in 1974, it was his opportunity to reclaim a victory over Frazier.
The fight went the full 12 rounds and finished with Ali as the unanimous decision winner. The pair would then once again face off in 1975. At the Araneta Coliseum, Barangay Cubao Philippines, Metro Manila, Quezon City. In what would become one of the most famous bouts in boxing history.
As for the third and final time, Ali and Frazier settled the score at the Thrilla in Manilla. Ali again would be victorious, leaving the final total standing at 2 – 1 to Ali. Their boxing matches would become some of the most famous in boxing history. With Frazier one of the very few men to ever beat the great Ali.
