Hunto San Mark Hunt: I Will Not Be Submitted

Mark Hunt vs Frank Mire Won’t Be Submitted

UFC heavyweight Mark Hunt has been around the block one or two times. The veteran of Pride, K1 and UFC faces Frank Mir this weekend at UFC Fight Night Brisbane. Mir who is a former UFC heavyweight champion is looking to stop Hunt and promised a submission finish when the two meet this weekend. Meanwhile, Hunt has other plans and isn’t quite reading from the same hymn sheet as the former champion.

When he transitioned from K1 to mixed martial arts, Mark Hunt became knock as a fighter who had pretty much no ground game. In the early years of his MMA career Pride Fighting Championships, Dream and UFC. Hunt lost 60% of his fights via submission, while 75% of his wins came via KO/TKO. Coming from a boxing and kickboxing background and joining the ranks of the MMA world with little or no wrestling or grappling experience. It was never going to be an easy road for the Super Samoan.

If Hunt can get a win over Mir another fellow veteran, who knows what may be next. Hunt lost in his heavyweight title shot to Fabricio  Werdum back in November 2014 via TKO. That was followed by yet another defeat to number one contender Stipe Miocic. Who faces Werdum for the title on May 14th in Curitiba Brazil at UFC 198. He has since gone on to win against Antonio Silva, a fighter he had previously drawn against when they first met.

Should Hunt win against Mir in Brisbane on March 19th at UFC Brisbane? he may very well find himself being once again mentioned in contender circles. whatever happens, we are sure that both of these outstanding fighters who have been around the fight game for so many years. Will put on a show for the Australian fans in attendance and those watching around the world.
