Khabib Nurmagomedov UFC 219 training camp
The second episode of Khabib Nurmagomedov in his training camp at Team AKA San Jose. As he prepares for his fight against Edson Barboza at UFC 219. In this second instalment, Khabib breaks down his daily training routine. As he prepares to make his comeback to the octagon following another long layoff.
Originally scheduled to take on Tony Ferguson for the interim lightweight title. Nurmagomedov was forced out of the fight due to a weight-cutting issue. Still undefeated, he looks to make a successful return and re-establish himself at the top of the food chain in the stacked 155lb division.
We get to see Khabib sparring with some of his teammates including the current light heavyweight champion Daniel Cormier. The two fighters are obviously good friends and have great chemistry. And in one take we hear from DC as he pokes fun at Khabib. Letting him know that he was the one person who was talking him up as a contender. Before he became a big name in the sport stateside.
Nurmagomedov talks about how important respect is inside the gym during training. Adding that his teammates don’t have to like him. But respect is expected from the guys he trains with.

Khabib also talks about his UFC 219 opponent Edson Barboza. And how he feels that the Brazilian has been protected from wrestlers. Wrestling is something he has been doing his whole life and so he will use this a lot in their fight. We also get to see Khabib training some kids and people from outside the club. As he talks about his cardio and sparring sessions every Monday.
Now as the fight quickly approaches, he is looking ready to go as he faces a tough challenge in Barboza. Will we see Khabib Nurmagomedov make a run at the lightweight title in the coming year? UFC 219 will no doubt answer at least some of those questions.
