It’s time for UFC 212 Countdown, as featherweight champions Jose Aldo and Max Holloway train for their title unification bout. In the sport’s most hotly contested weight class, longtime champion Aldo seeks to prove that he still has the skills to stay atop the division. But another hot fighter on a winning streak by the name of Max Holloway has captured the Interim title in Aldo’s absence.

And so the pound for pound great now has his sights set on defeating Max. And unifying his featherweight crown, on home soil in Rio de Janeiro Brazil. A crown that he held for over four years until he was defeated by Conor McGregor at UFC 194. Since then he has gone on to defeat Frankie Edgar and next up he takes on one of the sports fastest rising stars in Max Holloway.

Holloway has been on a tear ever since he also lost to McGregor, going ten straight fights without a loss. While also setting several new records along the way. With his last fight being against the former UFC lightweight champion turned featherweight Anthony “Showtime” Pettis. In which Max dominated to win the interim UFC title.

And with both fighters confident they have the necessary tools to win the fight. It’s shaping up to be an intriguing matchup between two of the very best to ever do it.

And in the co-main event, strawweight contenders Claudia Gadelha and Karolina Kowalkiewicz. As both look to prove they deserve another title shot. After taking valuable lessons from their action-packed bouts against champion Joanna Jedrzejczyk.
