There have been reports that a heavyweight fight between two hard hitters will take place at an upcoming UFC event on May 13. Apparently, contender Jairzinho Rozenstruik will fight up-and-comer Jailton Almeida.
Rozenstruik, who now has a record of 13-4, defeated Chris Daukaus via knockout in his most recent fight, which took place in December 2022. The 34-year-old had previously lost by knockout to Alexander Volkov in June 2022 and to Curtis Blaydes in September 2021, therefore this victory ended a two-fight losing streak.
Almeida (18-2), who is still perfect in the Octagon, is now riding a four-fight winning streak in the UFC, having recently defeated Shamil Abdurakhimov in January 2023. His other UFC victories were via finish against Danilo Marques, Parker Porter, Anton Turkalj, and Abdurakhimov. His most recent defeat occurred in January 2018, when he was defeated by Bruno Assis through a unanimous decision at Shooto Brasil 80.
At this time, Rozenstruik is slated to fight Almeida at UFC Fight Night 225, which will take place on May 13. Anthony Smith and Johnny Walker, two light heavyweights, are set to headline the card, even though a specific location has not been announced.
