Holly Holm vs Miesha Tate full Fight
Holly Holm is the current UFC Women’s Bantamweight Champion. She is also a former professional boxer and kickboxer. She was a multiple-time world champion in boxing, defending her titles 18 times in three weight classes, and was a two-time Ring magazine fighter of the year.
Her opponent is perennial contender, now title challenger Miesha Tate. Primarily known for her grappling ability, Tate became a wrestler while attending Franklin Pierce High School in Tacoma, Washington and won a state championship during her senior year in 2005.
Unlike Holly’s dethroning of Rousey, as styles make fights. I believe this fight may have more x-factors due to Miesha’s ability to mix things up more than Ronda did in their fight, respectively. Holly is certainly a more refined striker, and Tate the more experienced and gritty grappler.
But Holly has ever-improving takedown defence, and Miesha doesn’t have a chin first striking style to then get the standing head and arm clinch like Rousey. Her approach is different and she often strikes her way into more timing-based, wrestle-heavy takedowns. So it will be interesting to see how exactly this fight plays out.
In Holm’s first defence of her title against the Tate who had lost to Rousey two times. Would she make it third time lucky against the new champion, who for many is still learning the MMA game. Has Holly got what it takes to hold off the hungry Cupcake as the pair fight it out for UFC gold.
Let us watch how this fight plays out as both women strive for the championship. This may be Tate’s final shot at ever seeing a belt wrapped around her waist. And so we would expect nothing less than the very best Miesha to be on show.
