With a loss to (one of) the greatest p4p fighters in the history of MMA, Demetrious Johnson, Olympic Gold Medalist and bright blue-chip prospect knew that he needed a mirror and a stroll back to the drawing board.
After stringing together some tough fights before really hitting stride against Wilson Reis via a visibly improved striking game, he has now run off wins against DJ (avenged, close-fight), TJ (Dillashaw), and now Marlon Moraes (@ 135) making him the undisputed 125 and 135 lb champion in the UFC. A monumental feat that no one has ever done and defended. The future seems bright for arguably the most accomplished combat sports athlete of all time.
I want to fast forward a bit through the prior mentioned, bringing to modern-day, and of course a focus on skill along the way. Enjoy, cheers.
