Edmen Shahbazyan Brendan Dorman Study/highlights/breakdown/skill explained
Edmen “The Golden Boy” Shahbazyan (Armenian: Էդմեն Շահբազյանը) is a 22-year-old phenom, ranked #9 in the UFC’s Middleweight (185 lb.) division. His recent win over Brad Tavares not only put him in the contender realm of prose and pundits but now brings the young buck’s record to 11-0 with 9 knockouts and 1 submission.
Though I call these “Prospect” studies, it is more of an analysis of a fresh new face in a growing sport that may have the potential to compete for the title in their respective weight class(es). While I disagree with Edmond Tarverdyan, his head coach, (on many things) re he would knock out Stylebender if they were to fight now, I do think the future is bright and wanted to take an honest look at young Edmen, without being hypercritical, but more as a celebration of skill.
