From Brooklyn to the World, the former welterweight and light-welterweight World Champion Paulie Malignaggi. Exclusively revealed that he will be on Conor McGregor’s team for sparring, once the Irishman goes stateside. As he prepares for his upcoming boxing match against Floyd Mayweather on August 26th.
At first, Malignaggi was a little bit shocked by the news, as he has been away from the sport for some time. But he’s now been back in the gym and is ready to jump in the ring once McGregor hits US soil. But more than anything, Paulie is intrigued to see how Conor has been progressing inside the ring. He talks about McGregor’s natural abilities, having seen him fight live in the UFC. And is curious to see how that transfers to the ring!
Another thing Malignaggi is looking forward to is providing invaluable insight. Having spent hours sparring McGregor, he will be able to break down his shots with far greater detail. Rather than him having only been watching from the sidelines. When he commentates during the bout itself come fight night in Las Vegas.
