UFC Featherweight champion Conor McGregor is busy putting in the work, with just a few short weeks to go to his lightweight title fight against Rafael Dos Anjos. The SBG fighter is seen here working the pads with Owen Roddy before challenging for the title on March 5th.
The Dubliner is looking to become the only man in the history of the Ultimate Fighting Championships to hold two titles at the same time. A feat attempted by other fighters of notoriety including BJ Penn but never achieved. It has to be said that at the time Penn was not allowed to keep his lightweight belt when challenged George Saint Pierre for the title on the Super Bowl weekend at UFC 94.
Regardless of any of that McGregor looks to once again make history and may very well set another PPV record if his previous outings are anything to go by. Also on the card will be Holly Holm defending here women’s bantamweight belt against Miesha Tate.
The fight will place at the MGM Grand Garden in Las Vegas, where the SBG man dethroned long-reigning Jose Aldo Junior to take the featherweight crown. Expect another mass influx of Irish fans on the night supporting their man.
