Conor McGregor vs Floyd Mayweather Randy Couture Opens Up!
The MMA living legend Randy Couture joined Skip Bayless and Shannon Sharpe on Undisputed. To give his expert opinion on the Conor McGregor’s chances against Floyd Mayweather.
Randy is also asked about the infamous sparring situation with Paulie Malignaggi. And if it is normal for the sparring sessions to be recorded by a private team of guys.
Couture is giving McGregor a 1 in 10 chance of pulling off the upset. And thinks that if McGregor is to get it done it will be early in the fight. He says that he is awkward, but goes back to the point that Floyd is the greatest defensive boxer of the last 20 years.
Randy answers the question and says that what makes people think a fighter who is 0 and 0. Can beat the best defensive boxer of a generation. But can Mayweather touch Conor? Well, Couture thinks that Conor will try to bring the fight to Mayweather. And the more he does that the more he will get hit.
Randy believes we are probably looking at a 12 round decision fight in favour of Mayweather. As Conor is the younger, longer rangier fighter. This is the reason Couture believes the fight will actually go the full 12. He will do things Floyd is not seen. And it’s not outside the realm of possibility that he could win, but it’s a very slim chance.
As far as Randy is concerned he would like to see the other 11 rounds of sparring video. If Dana White has it, why not show that too? Randy feels that,
“They are manipulating the situation.”
Having an official judge in the ring. Having a group of people come in to view the sparring session. Not releasing the rest of the video. Randy is convinced that the McGregor team is up to no good.
