Brian Ortega is an undefeated, 27-year-old BJJ Black Belt under Rener Gracie. Though his path started with boxing (at 17, under the tutelage of James Luhrsen), he is now known/accepted as one of the very best submission artists in Mixed Martial Arts.
His nickname (T-City) even stems from his proclivity for triangle chokes. With his title implicating fight coming up with Frankie Edgar (Breakdown Here: ), Ortega will certainly have his skills in all facets of the game tested. With Ortega known for finishing and Frankie Edgar never being finished, this fight is about as interesting as they come, and the winner likely in line for a title shot against Max Holloway.
